CANANDAIGUA — A Canandaigua woman with a decade of service in senior living has been recognized among the best in New York for her work supporting older adults.
Melanie Eisenberg, a receptionist at Ferris Hills at West Lake and Clark Meadows, received the Employee of Distinction Award from LeadingAge New York, which honors non-management staff who demonstrate exceptional dedication in aging services. The organization represents a wide network of nonprofit and public providers, including nursing homes, assisted living communities, and senior housing.
Eisenberg was nominated by her employer, part of UR Medicine Thompson Health, where she has worked for 10 years following a 35-year career as a paralegal. In addition to her front desk role, she is trained as a personal care aide and regularly supports activities and other departments.
She was one of just 16 recipients statewide and represented the Rochester region. Leadership at Ferris Hills and Clark Meadows credited her compassion, flexibility, and behind-the-scenes contributions as having a meaningful impact on residents, staff, and the broader community.
