Newark names veteran operator to lead wastewater treatment plant

The Village of Newark has appointed a veteran water and wastewater professional to oversee one of its most critical public infrastructure systems.

Village officials announced that Joe Tullo will serve as the new chief operator of the Newark Wastewater Treatment Plant, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the field to the role.

Tullo most recently served for 11 years as superintendent of water and sewer in Seneca Falls, where he managed municipal water and wastewater operations.

Mayor Jonathan Taylor said the village expects Tullo’s experience to strengthen operations at the facility moving forward.

“We are excited that someone with Joe’s experience is leading the Wastewater Treatment Plant team,” Taylor said. “We are confident that under his leadership, the facility will continue to operate at the highest standards.”

The wastewater treatment plant plays a key role in protecting public health and environmental quality, making leadership continuity and operational expertise a priority for village officials.
