Authorities arrested a man in Steuben County on fugitive and sex offender registry charges following a joint investigation.
Raymond K. Kaufman, 63, of Wayland, was taken into custody March 18 by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service.
Investigators said Kaufman was wanted by police in West Valley City, Utah, for failing to register as a sex offender.
He also allegedly failed to register as a sex offender in Steuben County.
Kaufman was charged as a fugitive from justice in Utah and with violating sex offender registry requirements in New York.
He was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and held for extradition.
