A man was convicted this week after a jury trial in Ontario County Court on charges including assaulting a police officer.
Miles J. Martin was found guilty following a trial before Judge Frederick G. Reed, according to the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office.
The jury convicted Martin of assault on a police officer, a class C violent felony, as well as second-degree criminal mischief, first-degree criminal contempt, felony driving while intoxicated, common law felony driving while intoxicated, and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Prosecutors said the charges stemmed from an incident in which a New York State trooper was injured while performing official duties.
Assistant District Attorney Timothy Boucher prosecuted the case.
Martin faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 3½ years in state prison and could receive up to 15 years when sentenced April 2 in Ontario County Court.
