An incident inside Auburn Correctional Facility led to a felony conviction after an inmate admitted throwing urine at a correction officer.
Jamerlee Jones pleaded guilty March 10 in Cayuga County Court to aggravated harassment of an employee by an incarcerated individual.
Prosecutors said Jones intentionally threw urine at a correction officer assigned to E Block at Auburn Correctional Facility on July 31 while he was housed there.
Jones is scheduled to return to court May 26 for sentencing. He is expected to receive a prison term of 1½ to 3 years.
The sentence will run consecutively to the prison term Jones is already serving.
Chief Assistant District Attorney Christopher T. Valdina prosecuted the case.
