A Seneca Falls family is rallying support for a 5-year-old girl battling a rare and life-threatening disease, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Natalee Knapp was recently diagnosed with mitochondrial disease, a condition that affects how cells produce energy and can damage major organs. Her father, Chris Knapp, has taken leave from work to care for her full time as doctors monitor her condition.
A fundraiser called “Natalee’s Fight” will be held March 14 at the Serven Fire Department in Waterloo to help cover medical costs and a possible trip to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for specialized treatment.
