HS BASKETBALL REPORT: Lyons’ LeBrecht, Gananda’s Vogt hit 1,000-point mark; Marcus Whitman girls outlast Mynderse in OT

The second day of sectional play got underway Tuesday night with a full slate across the Wayne-Finger Lakes, as nearly a dozen teams advanced to the next round. Two Wayne County seniors also reached a major milestone, joining the 1,000-point club in dominant victories. Lyons’ Stephen LeBrecht and Gananda’s Hunter Vogt each surpassed the career scoring mark, with Vogt becoming the second Blue Panther to do so this season, joining Cooper Grassel, who reached the milestone in early January. In girls action, Marcus Whitman earned an overtime win over Mynderse, while Williamson/Marion secured a narrow victory against Penn Yan to move on.

Check out the scores, stats, brackets, Wednesday’s schedule, and the last episode of the Upstate Hoops podcast below.
