Police say two people face charges after investigators found nude images of a victim were shared to cause emotional harm.
Penn Yan Police arrested Xavia D. Miller, 26, and Daniel J. Smith, 39, following the investigation.
Officers said their investigation revealed that Miller sent nude images of the victim to another person with the intent to cause emotional harm.
Police also charged Smith, who is an inmate at the Yates County Jail, in connection with the case.
Investigators said Smith conspired with Miller to help facilitate the crime. According to police, Smith accessed images of the victim and had Miller pick up a cell phone from another inmate’s property that contained the nude images.
Police said Miller then disseminated the images to someone known to the victim.
Miller was charged with unlawful dissemination or publication of an intimate image. Smith was charged with conspiracy in the sixth degree.
