A longtime nonprofit leader says his firing came just weeks after he lost an arm to a rare infection, according to The Citizen.
Former Cayuga Centers CEO Edward Myers Hayes claims the agency pushed him out in 2025 while he recovered from a work-related illness. He accuses the organization of discrimination, retaliation, and defamation, and wants his job back plus damages through 2031.
The agency blames him for millions in losses and alleges misconduct, claims Hayes strongly denies. Both sides have filed competing legal claims, and the case now heads through discovery with no settlement reached.
