Investigators arrested a Farmington man following two separate incidents at a local hotel.
Brandon Giovannini, 41, was taken into custody Feb. 9 after Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies investigated incidents at the Finger Lakes Hotel on Loomis Road.
Deputies said the first incident occurred Jan. 6, when Giovannini allegedly assaulted a victim inside a hotel room and restrained her against her will. Investigators reported he threatened to kill her if she tried to leave.
A second incident was reported Feb. 9. Deputies said Giovannini repeatedly attempted to force his way into the room while making threats to kill the victim.
Because of a prior conviction for criminal contempt in the first degree, the charges were elevated. Giovannini was charged with unlawful imprisonment in the first degree and two counts of aggravated family offense.
Deputies took him into custody without incident and transported him to the Ontario County Jail for centralized arraignment. He is scheduled to answer the charges in Ontario County Court.
