Police said the victim reported being hit and punched in the head and body. At one point, he was punched in the mouth and began bleeding. The victim told officers he left the apartment to get away from the suspect.

Investigators said the suspect later contacted the victim through FaceTime and showed himself smashing the victim’s PlayStation 4 on the ground, rendering it inoperable. Police said the victim also showed officers text messages in which the suspect threatened to slash the tires on the victim’s vehicle, which was still parked at the Genesee Street address.

Officers transported the victim back to the residence, where they found all four tires on the vehicle had been slashed. Police located the suspect at the scene and took him into custody without incident.

Police identified the suspect as Kevin R. Breese, born May 5, 1996, of 253 Genesee Street, Apartment 3, Auburn. Breese was transported to the Auburn Police Department for processing.

According to police, Breese was charged with an additional felony due to a prior domestic-related criminal contempt conviction in 2023. He was arraigned in Auburn City Court, where an order of protection was issued. Police said he was released following arraignment.

Breese faces the following charges: aggravated family offense, a Class E felony; criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor, two counts; and harassment in the second degree, a violation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
