Authorities are investigating a fatal house fire reported the morning of March 10 in the Town of Conquest.
Ralph “Keene” Christopher, 89, was found dead inside the home at 281 East Lake Road.
The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office said the fire was reported around 8:36 a.m.
A preliminary investigation found the fire started in the living room of the residence.
Christopher, the home’s only occupant, was located in the living room area.
Investigators said nothing about the fire appears suspicious at this time. The cause remains under investigation.
Several agencies assisted at the scene, including the New York State Police, multiple area fire departments, Cayuga County Emergency Services, the Cayuga County Coroner’s Office, and the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
