A fall raid at a Cayuga County smoke shop turned up guns, cannabis, and cash, according to The Citizen. State police say investigators seized large quantities of marijuana, unstamped cigarettes, firearms, and currency during coordinated searches across several counties.
Troopers charged two operators after an Oct. 24 raid at Pipekeepers in Montezuma, following an investigation that began in August. New York State Police say the suspects face multiple felony counts tied to weapons, cannabis possession, and illegal cigarettes. Authorities shut down the shop after the raid.
The arrests land as the operators remain locked in a civil fight with the Cayuga Nation over tobacco and cannabis sales. Police say the investigation continues with help from local agencies and federal partners.
