Cornell women’s hockey posted a decisive 5-0 victory over Dartmouth on Friday night at Lynah Rink, improving to 14-9-2 on the season. Dartmouth fell to 4-18-3.

After a scoreless opening period, Cornell broke through midway through the second. Avi Adam opened the scoring on a rush chance that slipped past the goaltender, and Georgia Schiff followed with a rebound finish to give the Big Red a 2-0 lead heading into the third.
Cornell put the game away with a three-goal final period. Beatrice Perron-Roy added an early third-period tally to extend the lead, and Rose Dwyer followed just over a minute later with a goal from the blue line. Karel Prefontaine capped the scoring midway through the frame when her shot found its way through traffic.
The Big Red finished with five different goal scorers, showcasing balanced offensive production. Piper Grober recorded two assists, while Adam, Schiff, Perron-Roy, Dwyer and Prefontaine each contributed offensively. Cornell continued to apply pressure throughout the night, forcing Dartmouth to rely heavily on its goaltender.
Annelies Bergmann anchored the shutout, stopping all 23 shots she faced to earn her fifth shutout and 14th win of the season. Dartmouth’s Jiahui Zhan made 30 saves in the loss.
Cornell has now won 11 of its 14 games this season by three or more goals, continuing a trend of strong performances when capitalizing on scoring chances.
Cornell returns to action Saturday, closing its Ivy League schedule against Harvard. Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Lynah Rink.
