A Montour Falls business is expanding its operations after securing a small but targeted investment aimed at boosting local economic development.
Village officials announced Thursday that Statements Accounting and Consulting has been awarded a $7,800 Climate Smart Communities business mini-grant, a move leaders say will help the company scale its services and workforce.
Mayor James Ryan signed off on the grant April 2, calling it a strategic investment in the village’s small business ecosystem. The funding will be used to enhance the firm’s IT infrastructure, allowing it to serve more clients and support future hiring.
Company President and CEO Rebecca Carroll said the investment comes at a critical time, as demand for accounting and consulting services continues to grow. The upgraded infrastructure is expected to improve efficiency and position the firm for continued expansion.
Village officials framed the grant as part of a broader effort to strengthen the local economy by supporting businesses that are poised to grow. Ryan said helping companies like Statements remain competitive ultimately benefits the entire community.
