Cornell men’s basketball trimmed a 23-point deficit to two in the second half, but Penn’s efficiency and late free throws secured a 91-81 victory Saturday evening at Newman Arena. The loss snapped Cornell’s three-game winning streak as both teams finished the night 10-10 overall and 3-4 in Ivy League play.

Penn controlled the opening half, scoring 49 points and building its lead behind sharp perimeter shooting. Cornell shot 50 percent from the field in the second half and finished 14-of-33 from beyond the arc.
Penn answered every push down the stretch, relying on trips to the free-throw line to regain control.
