United Way launches local interview series

A new local video series will spotlight nonprofit work across Cayuga County, starting later this month.

United Way of Cayuga County announced a partnership with Auburn Regional Media Access to launch Cayuga Connections: Conversations with United Way, a monthly program featuring interviews with community organizations and leaders. The series premieres Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. on ARMA stations.

Highlighting local partnerships

The series will feature casual, long-form conversations between United Way of Cayuga County Executive Director Lisa Kaminski and leaders from member agencies. Each episode runs about 40 minutes and includes two interviews focused on how local organizations serve the community and how United Way funding supports that work.

According to United Way, the goal is to show how partnerships between nonprofits, businesses, government agencies, and residents help address community needs and create long-term change.

The first episode on Jan. 21 will feature Scott Sincerbeaux, CEO of the Auburn YMCA-WEIU, and Caroline Dixon, executive director of Confidential Help for Alcohol & Drugs.

Upcoming episodes include:

  • Feb. 18: Angela Daddabbo of Auburn Public Theater and Michael Slomski of Westminster Manor Adult Home
  • March 18: Fran Daloia of the Finger Lakes Incubator & Commercial Kitchen and Frank Capozzi Jr. of Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes
