Deputies arrested a man early Sunday after an investigation into a theft at a Waterloo business.
Steven L. Smith, 57, of Waterloo, was taken into custody around 1:06 a.m. on Jan. 11 in the Town of Waterloo and charged with petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor.
The charge stems from an incident on Dec. 16, when deputies say Smith stole merchandise from a local business in the Town of Waterloo.
Seneca County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the case and later made the arrest.
Deputies transported Smith to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center, where they processed him on the charge.
Authorities released Smith on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Waterloo Court at a later date to answer the charge.
