Dansville Central voters backed a $23.35 million second phase of school building improvements in a lopsided 108-32 vote, according to the Hornell Evening Tribune.
The district says the work targets safety and code compliance, aging infrastructure, and mechanical systems that have outlived their warranties. Plans span multiple sites, including primary and elementary schools, the high school, and the transportation building, with projects like ADA bathroom upgrades, service road repairs, water line replacements to prevent freezing, and repairs to failing floors and foundations.
Officials say the project won’t raise local school taxes because state building aid will cover nearly 88% of the cost, with the local share offset by retiring debt and capital reserve funds. Construction should start in summer 2027 and wrap in fall 2028.
