A routine traffic stop for an expired inspection in the Town of Fayette led deputies to a suspected cocaine stash early Saturday, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies arrested Seth A. Conner, of 14 Iroquois Ln. in Waterloo, around 3:13 a.m. on Dec. 13. They charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor, according to Sheriff Tim Thompson.
The sheriff’s office said deputies stopped Conner’s vehicle on a public highway after they saw it had an expired New York State inspection.
Deputies said they spotted drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle. They ordered Conner out of the car and detained him, the release said.
Deputies then searched the vehicle and found “a quantity of suspected cocaine” packaged in individual bags, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies also searched Conner and found another bag of suspected cocaine in his sock, the release said.
Conner was taken to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center for processing. The sheriff’s office said deputies released him with an appearance ticket and a uniform traffic ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Fayette Court to answer the charges.
