An 18-year-old driver lost control on a rural stretch of Route 64 Sunday afternoon, sending his car into a ditch and injuring his teenage passenger.
Deputies say Maxwell Benoit of Pittsford was behind the wheel of a 2012 Ford Fiesta around 2 p.m. when the crash happened just south of Wheeler Road. His passenger, a juvenile, complained of back pain and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital as a precaution.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with East Bloomfield Fire and Canandaigua Ambulance.
Investigators say Benoit was headed northbound when he veered off the east side of the road.
