Authorities arrested a man following a traffic stop attempt in Springport.
Simon J. Fricano, 43, of Springport, was taken into custody March 20 after deputies observed erratic driving behavior.
Deputies attempted a traffic stop around 9:02 p.m. on Backus Road near State Route 326. The vehicle reportedly pulled over before accelerating away multiple times.
Investigators said the driver swerved, failed to signal, and later pulled into a driveway and exited the vehicle.
Fricano was charged with driving while intoxicated, improper turn signal, failure to keep right, open container, and unsafe lane movement.
Authorities said he refused a breath test at the Public Safety Building. He was later arraigned and released, and appeared in Springport Town Court on March 25.
