A long-abandoned corset factory in Canandaigua is getting a second life as a 51-unit apartment complex, according to 13WHAM-TV.
Developers broke ground Friday on the former Labelon site, which once made parachutes during WWII and has sat vacant since 2002. The property underwent an environmental cleanup and is now being redeveloped as the Hunter House.
The factory is also up for state and national historic registry status — and the project’s lead says he’d feel comfortable putting his own mom there.
