A man already behind bars in Lyons is now facing a new charge after deputies say he brought prohibited items into the jail.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested 46-year-old Brian Lazzar following a special investigation at the Wayne County Jail. Lazzar, a Town of Lyons resident, was allegedly found in possession of matches and striker pads while in custody—items considered contraband under New York State law.
Lazzar was charged with promoting prison contraband in the second degree, a misdemeanor. Deputies issued him an appearance ticket while he remained incarcerated. He’s scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court on December 1 at 8:30 a.m.
