Avi Adam scored twice for the Big Red, while Piper Grober and Karel Prefontaine added the other goals, with Prefontaine netting the overtime winner. Cornell also received assists from Alyssa Regalado, Grace Dwyer, McKenna Van Gelder, and Lindzi Avar. Goaltender Annelies Bergmann finished with 28 saves to move to 8-1 on the year.

Special teams once again played a major role for Cornell. The Big Red struck for three straight power-play goals and added their first shorthanded tally of the season. Despite surrendering their first power-play goal of the year, they killed four of Colgate’s five opportunities, including three in the opening period.

After a scoreless first frame, the second period delivered a flurry of action. Colgate’s Alexia Aubin opened the scoring shortly after a missed Cornell penalty shot. Adam responded moments later with a shorthanded breakaway, but Colgate quickly regained the lead with a power-play marker. Emma Pais made it 3-1 before Adam buried her second of the period on a Cornell power play to trim the deficit.

Cornell drew even with five minutes left in regulation when Grober converted on the man advantage. In overtime, Prefontaine ended the contest on the Big Red’s only shot of the extra session.
