A Canandaigua man is facing a felony charge after police say he made a threat that forced the cancellation of a popular community event.
Michael J. Keitz, 56, was arrested on November 9 and charged with making a terroristic threat. Investigators say the incident happened two days earlier, when Keitz allegedly made a threat directed at the Christkindl Dance at the Granger Homestead in Canandaigua.
The threat caused organizers to cancel the event out of fear of a potential domestic terrorist attack.
Police also said Keitz is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service in connection with a federal warrant for a bank robbery in Buffalo. He was processed by city police and taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
The New York State Police assisted in the investigation.
