Mercy Flight Central names Lauren Kolb as new CEO

Mercy Flight Central is getting a new leader — and she’s no stranger to the mission.

The Canandaigua-based nonprofit announced that Lauren Kolb will take over as President and CEO starting December 1. She succeeds Jeff Bartkoski, who is retiring after more than a decade at the helm.

Kolb brings a track record of executive leadership and deep ties to the community. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President at Tompkins Financial Advisors, where she oversaw a $125 million portfolio and led major initiatives in client service and growth. She’s also held senior roles at Canandaigua National Corporation and Genesee Valley Trust Company.

“I am deeply honored to join Mercy Flight Central,” Kolb said. “This organization is defined by the skill, dedication, and unwavering commitment of its teams, who fulfill a lifesaving mission every day.”

Board Chair Marisa Geitner called Kolb “a well-respected and transformative leader,” adding that her energy and vision will help the organization continue to grow.

Kolb is no stranger to MFC—she’s previously served as Vice Chair of Major Gifts for the organization. Her resume also includes service with the United Way, Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance, and other nonprofits across the region.

Mercy Flight Central has provided air medical services since 1992 and now operates three helicopter bases covering the Finger Lakes, Central New York, and the Mohawk Valley. Crews are available 24/7 to provide critical care transport throughout the region.
