Newark welcomes Brandon Smith as new Deputy Clerk/Treasurer

The Village of Newark has a new face at Village Hall — and local leaders are calling him a strong addition to the team.

Brandon Smith has been hired as the village’s new Deputy Clerk/Treasurer. He brings with him a background in finance and management, along with a friendly, community-minded approach.

Originally from the Town of Galen and a graduate of the Lyons Central School District, Smith now lives in Marion with his wife, Kassidi. Outside of work, he’s an avid outdoorsman who enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Village officials say he’s already making a positive impression.

“Brandon has already shown that he can perform the duties of the position well, and with a cheerful personality,” said Mayor Taylor. “The Village Board and I are pleased to welcome him to the team.”

Clerk/Treasurer Lynette Morrison agreed, noting Smith’s positive attitude and work ethic.

“His eagerness to learn makes him a great addition to the Village office,” she said. “Brandon will be beneficial to our Village for years to come.”
