BILLS GAME DAY: Buffalo squares off with Kansas City (preview)

The Buffalo Bills will host the Kansas City Chiefs today at Highmark Stadium in a marquee Week 9 matchup between two AFC powerhouses. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m., marking the first of four late-afternoon starts for Buffalo this season.

The Bills enter at 5-2, while the Chiefs are 5-3 after a recent hot streak. Buffalo is coming off a dominant defensive effort in its 40-9 win over the Carolina Panthers, while Kansas City cruised past the Washington Commanders to win its fourth game in five weeks.

Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes meet for the 10th time in their storied careers, including the playoffs. Allen holds a 4-1 edge in the regular season, but Mahomes is 4-0 in the postseason. Allen ranks ninth in passer rating (103.6) this season and has 17 total touchdowns, while Mahomes leads the league with 21 total touchdowns and averages 262.4 passing yards per game.

Buffalo’s defensive front could be the difference, having recorded seven sacks and three takeaways last week. The Bills rank second in pressure rate (9.7%) and will need every bit of that disruption to slow Kansas City’s resurgent offense, which has averaged 30.8 points since Week 4.
