An Auburn man will spend up to a decade behind bars after a Cayuga County judge sentenced him on felony drug charges this week.
Reynaldo A. Ratcliffe-Sierra, 29, was sentenced Tuesday to a term of 10 years in prison with five years of post-release supervision for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree.
He also received an additional sentence of three years with three years of post-release supervision for a second felony drug charge. Both convictions stem from a June 2023 arrest.
According to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, Ratcliffe-Sierra pleaded guilty in August. Prosecutors said he possessed over four ounces of cocaine with intent to sell, following a June 11 arrest by Auburn police.
Authorities also connected him to a separate arrest that same month, in which the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force seized narcotics and cash during a search on North Seward Avenue.
The task force worked with Auburn police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration during the investigation.
This marks Ratcliffe-Sierra’s second violent felony conviction, triggering enhanced sentencing under New York law.
