Canandaigua man arrested after stalking, threatening neighbors

A Canandaigua man is facing multiple charges after police say he stalked and threatened two people at a North Pearl Street home.

James F. O’Dell Jr., 37, was arrested just before 1 a.m. on October 1 after officers responded to a harassment complaint in the area.

Investigators say O’Dell had been watching the victims’ home from across the street and made threats to harm both individuals. When officers found him nearby, he tried to run but was caught shortly after.

O’Dell was charged with fourth-degree stalking, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration. He was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
