A two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in the town of Venice left one person dead, according to first responders. The collision happened around 2:20 p.m. at Route 34B and Poplar Ridge Road and involved a car and a tractor-trailer.
Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck confirmed the fatality but said details are still under investigation. Multiple ambulance crews responded, and a medevac was requested but later canceled.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
