A traffic stop in Lyons led to a major narcotics and weapons bust after troopers found large quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, and illegal firearms at a local residence.

Adam Thomas, 48, was arrested on September 10 after New York State Police pulled him over on Broad Street for a traffic violation. Troopers say Thomas, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found with about 90 grams of cocaine.
Later that day, police executed a search warrant at Thomas’s home on Queen Street, where they uncovered:
- About 2 kilograms of suspected cocaine
- An additional 90 grams of cocaine
- Around 8 grams of suspected fentanyl
- Four illegally possessed handguns
- A digital scale with residue
- $2,767 in cash
Thomas was charged with multiple felonies, including:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st (A-I Felony)
- Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd with Intent to Sell (B Felony)
- Four counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd (C Felony)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A Misdemeanor)
He was transported to the Wayne County Jail for centralized arraignment.
The investigation began after troopers received a complaint about possible drug activity at the Queen Street address on September 9. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit assisted with the case, which remains ongoing.
