A man caught in a 2024 child sex sting in Auburn has been sentenced to prison, according to The Citizen.
Wilver O. Laparra-Gonzalez, 35, was sentenced to 1.5 years behind bars after pleading guilty to attempted rape and a sex act involving what he believed was a 14-year-old girl — actually an undercover officer. His arrest followed a sting that also led to two other arrests and a suicide.
The judge cited his clean record and low risk of reoffending when issuing the reduced sentence.
