Flat tire leads to DWI arrest in Waterloo

A Newark woman was arrested for drunk driving after deputies spotted her vehicle riding on a flat tire in Seneca County.

The traffic stop happened just after midnight on August 30 along State Route 96 in the Town of Waterloo. Deputies say 27-year-old Michaela Jacobs was behind the wheel and showed signs of intoxication. An investigation revealed her driver’s license was suspended and her blood alcohol content was 0.16%—twice the legal limit.

Jacobs was charged with misdemeanor DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation, as well as violations for having an unsafe tire and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle.

She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court on September 17 at 5 p.m.
