Kent State struck first in the 10th minute when Josie Morgan slotted a shot past Cornell defenders. Freshman goalkeeper Samantha Qureshey kept the deficit at one, matching her season high with four saves and allowing Cornell to dominate the remainder of the first half, outshooting the Golden Flashes 9-2.

Cornell found the equalizer in the 63rd minute after a Kent State defender mishandled a pass, and Brown calmly lifted the ball into the net. Despite generating late scoring chances, the Big Red were unable to take the lead, with Kent State goalkeeper Leah Shaffer preserving the draw.

The result marks the 10th time in program history, and first since 2023, that Cornell has remained unbeaten through its first four matches.

Sophomore Ivy Tolbert made her first collegiate start, playing 51 minutes, while Cornell’s defense has allowed just two goals through four games, the fewest since 2019.

Cornell continues its season on Thursday, September 4, with a road match at Delaware.
