Stolen motorcycle leads to two arrests, drug charges in Bath

Police in the Village of Bath say a stolen motorcycle investigation has led to two arrests and multiple felony drug charges following a traffic stop and subsequent search.

According to the Bath Police Department, an officer on patrol around 1:26 a.m. on August 20 spotted a motorcycle with switched license plates parked on West Steuben Street. Two people were standing nearby.

Officers determined the motorcycle had been stolen from the City of Corning and that the individuals at the scene were in possession of it.

Victoria M. Morgan, 41, who is homeless, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, a Class E felony. During the arrest, police say she was found with methamphetamine and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A misdemeanor. She was processed and released after arraignment at the Steuben County Jail.

Robert E.M. Wright, 43, of Campbell, fled the scene but was later located and arrested without incident on August 22 on Cruger Street. He faces charges of:

  • Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree (E felony)
  • Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree (A misdemeanor)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree (2 counts, A misdemeanor)

Police say Wright had Suboxone and Hydrocodone at the time of arrest. He was taken to the Steuben County Jail and remains in custody pending arraignment.
