Police arrest woman after domestic stabbing in Auburn

A woman was arrested this week after a violent domestic incident involving a knife on VanAnden Street in Auburn.

According to police, Angelina Burgdoff is accused of assaulting an elderly family member and stabbing them during an altercation that took place around 1:48 a.m. on August 20.

Officers responded to the scene and quickly located Burgdoff, who was taken into custody without issue. Investigators say she physically attacked the victim using her hands, a cane, and later a knife. She also allegedly damaged several items inside the home, including property belonging to the victim.

Burgdoff faces multiple charges, including:

  • Assault in the 2nd degree (Class D felony)
  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree (Class D felony)
  • Menacing in the 2nd degree (Class A misdemeanor)
  • Criminal mischief in the 4th degree (Class A misdemeanor)

She was processed and transported to the Cayuga County Jail to await arraignment.
