Sodus woman arrested twice after domestics: Faces assault, child endangerment charges

A Wayne County woman is facing a long list of charges after deputies say she was involved in multiple domestic violence incidents over several days in three towns.

Ashley M. Butler, 29, of Danford Street in Sodus, was arrested twice between August 16 and August 20 following separate investigations by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

In the first incident, deputies responded to a domestic dispute at her home in the Village of Sodus on August 16. Investigators say Butler punched the victim in the face during an argument, leaving visible bruising around his left eye. She allegedly tried to prevent him from calling 911 by grabbing his phone and threatening to break it. Two children were present during the altercation.

Butler was charged with:

  • Assault in the third degree
  • Criminal mischief in the fourth degree
  • Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child

She was held for arraignment at CAP court.

Just days later, Butler was arrested again following an investigation into separate incidents in Sodus, Lyons, and Savannah. According to deputies, she violated a full stay-away order of protection multiple times, both through direct contact and attempts to influence the protected person’s testimony.

She now faces:

  • Four counts of criminal contempt in the second degree
  • One count of tampering with a witness in the fourth degree

She was taken to the Wayne County Jail and held for another court appearance.
