Finger Lakes farms are drowning in unsold wine and rising costs — and Sen. Chuck Schumer says Trump’s tariffs are to blame, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Meeting with winery owners and ag leaders in Penn Yan, Schumer said the trade war with Canada has slashed tourism, hiked supply costs, and driven away key export buyers. One vineyard said they saw visitors from just one Canadian county this year — down from 35.
Schumer pledged to force a Senate vote to end the tariffs, which farmers say are pushing their businesses to the brink.
