New Yorkers can now weigh in on the state’s long-term energy strategy, according to the Times Union. A newly released 15-year draft plan outlines goals for environmental protection, affordability, and grid reliability, while also addressing growing energy demands from AI and tech manufacturing.
State officials praised the collaborative effort, noting the importance of resilient energy systems amid federal rollbacks on renewable tax credits. The plan also considers impacts on transportation and public health.
Nine public hearings are scheduled for August and September, including one in Albany on Sept. 10. Residents can submit written comments online through Oct. 6 before the final plan is adopted.
