An inmate at Elmira Correctional Facility was hurt after scaling a prison fence and falling, according to WENY News. The incident occurred Monday when the prisoner ignored commands and climbed the inner security barrier.
He never breached the prison’s outer perimeter and complied after falling. Officials say the community was not at risk, and the inmate’s identity was not released.
The state is continuing its investigation into the incident.
