An Arkport man is facing arson and criminal mischief charges following a domestic dispute that ended in a house fire, according to police. New York State Police say Jayden I. Cain, 21, admitted to setting the fire after an argument on July 21.
Troopers responded to County Route 46 after a neighbor reported yelling. They arrived to find a house engulfed in smoke and flames. Cain was discovered hiding in a nearby shed and confessed to using gasoline to ignite the fire.
No one was injured, but the home was destroyed. Cain is being held in Steuben County Jail as the investigation continues.
