Two Marion residents charged after motorcycle crash leaves woman seriously injured

A man and woman from the Town of Marion face multiple charges following a personal injury crash involving a motorcycle on Walworth Marion Road, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies arrested 35-year-old Chad Dier and 38-year-old Anna Parker after investigating the June 23 collision, which left the female motorcycle operator with severe injuries to her right forearm, femur, spine, and ankle.


Initially, deputies were led to believe Parker was behind the wheel of the vehicle that struck the motorcycle. However, further investigation revealed that Dier was the driver and was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Dier was charged with vehicular assault in the second degree, assault in the second degree, tampering with evidence, fifth-degree conspiracy, providing a false written statement, driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, aggravated unlicensed operation, improper left turn, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Parker was charged with fifth-degree conspiracy and providing a false statement. She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Marion Town Court on August 6.

Dier was taken to the Wayne County Jail and appeared in CAPS court on July 14 at 7 p.m.
