With the possible dissolution of the Fishers Fire District looming, Victor town leaders are scrambling to secure emergency coverage and are requesting more time.
According to RochesterFirst.com, Supervisor Jack Marren is working on a short-term plan that includes partnering with nearby departments and Victor Farmington Ambulance. The town has asked commissioners to delay the shutdown deadline from August to the end of the year.
Marren said cost concerns make keeping Fishers firefighters difficult, but emphasized that response times and public safety remain top priorities. A vote on the district’s future is scheduled for July 16.
