For the first time in over half a century, Cayuga County is creating a comprehensive strategic plan, according to The Citizen. The project, backed by a $103,500 state grant, aims to guide future growth with a focus on sustainability, economic development, housing, and infrastructure.
Public meetings to kick off the planning process will be held July 8–10 in Locke, Aurelius, and Ira. The effort will be led by a committee representing local government, housing, and development agencies.
Officials say the plan is a community-driven blueprint to ensure a resilient, inclusive future—one built entirely by county staff without outside consultants.
