A sheriff’s patrol vehicle rear-ended an SUV Thursday afternoon on State Route 96 in front of Phoenix Mills Plaza in Victor, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. when 26-year-old Allyson Chester of Farmington stopped her 2025 Toyota RAV4 to wait for oncoming traffic before turning into the plaza. Her vehicle was struck from behind by a 2018 Dodge Charger patrol car driven by 35-year-old Deputy Casey Morey of Canandaigua.
Emergency crews responded to the scene. Chester was evaluated by Victor Farmington Ambulance personnel and declined transport to the hospital. Morey was taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The crash remains under investigation. The New York State Police, Victor Fire Department, and Victor Farmington Ambulance assisted at the scene.
