Wayne-Finger Lakes high school sports: May 7 scoreboard

Victor edged out a top-tier opponent in a tightly contested girls’ lacrosse battle, while Palmyra-Macedon dominated behind a standout eight-point performance from Jenna Santelli.

Bloomfield softball remained red-hot with a big offensive night fueled by Calla McCombs and Ashlyn Wright and Palmyra-Macedon rolled past Penn Yan thanks to a balanced effort at the plate and in the circle. 


On the baseball field, Wayne secured a key win behind a strong pitching performance in a low-scoring battle.

The Red Raiders picked up a strong win behind solid efforts at the plate and in the circle. Emma Bedette went 2-for-3 with two singles, three runs scored, and an RBI, while Shelby Geer added a single, a double, and a walk. Brianna VanHaneghan was sharp in the circle, allowing just one unearned run on one hit with six strikeouts over three innings. Penn Yan was led by Fischer, who went 3-for-4 with three singles and a run scored.

Morgan Sutryk turned in a dominant outing in the circle for the BraveScots, striking out 11 while allowing just two hits and no runs over five innings. She also drove in a run at the plate to help her team build an early lead. Korrin Yeoman contributed with two hits and an RBI, while Piper Simpson also tallied a pair of hits.

Alexis Rosno powered the BraveScots with a standout performance at the plate, driving in five runs on four hits, including three doubles and a single. The offense exploded early with big contributions from Morgan Sutryk, Piper Simpson, and Adalyn Tham, who also picked up the win in the circle with four strikeouts over five innings. Dundee/Bradford racked up 18 hits, with Korrin Yeoman and Rosno each collecting four. Mia Betrus led the Big Green Machines with three RBI despite limited offensive production.

Calla McCombs led the way for the Bombers with a 3-for-4 performance, including two triples, two RBI, and four runs scored. Ashlyn Wright added three hits and five RBI, while also striking out 14 in the circle and allowing just one earned run on three hits. Bri Leitten and Celia Falsone combined for five hits and four RBI to fuel the offensive surge. The Tigers were held to three hits, with Ava Panek, Gwyn Panek, and Henly Guy each recording one.
