A theft inside the Seneca County Jail led to charges against one of its own inmates.

Steven Knight, 40, was arrested on April 17 on a charge of petit larceny. According to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Knight is accused of stealing property from another incarcerated individual.

Knight remains in custody but was issued an appearance ticket. Authorities say he is scheduled to appear in the Town of Romulus Court at a later date.

The investigation was handled by Seneca County Sheriff Timothy Thompson’s office. No further details about the alleged theft were released.
