Ontario County lawmakers have decided not to weigh in on the controversial Seneca Meadows landfill expansion, according to the Finger Lakes Times. A committee voted 5-1 against sending a letter of concern to state officials.
Geneva Supervisor John Pruett, who proposed the letter, was absent. Only Town of Geneva Supervisor Mark Venuti supported the effort, hoping to highlight potential impacts on nearby communities.
Most committee members said the letter was unnecessary despite its more measured tone.
